Course Description

AI & Policing w/ Lab: 2-Day Bundle Hosted by Hingham, MA Police Department Join Hingham Police Department for two days of training focused on understanding and applying artificial intelligence (AI) in modern policing. You can register for a single day or both days, but booking this 2-day bundle saves you $100 and gives you the complete experience. Day 1: AI & Policing Gain a clear, evidence-based framework to evaluate and implement AI tools responsibly within your agency. This course equips law enforcement professionals with the strategic insight and structured approach needed to navigate AI adoption. Designed specifically for policing, it demystifies key concepts such as generative AI and large language models, showing how these tools can enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and support investigations. Participants will analyze real-world use cases — including AI-assisted report writing and body-worn camera evaluation — while examining the legal, ethical, and operational challenges of AI. Drawing on the only experimental study to date on AI in policing, the course emphasizes constitutional policing, public trust, and human oversight. Attendees leave with an agency-ready evaluation checklist, a roadmap for pilot implementation, and a deeper understanding of AI’s risks, benefits, and alignment with national best practices. Day 2: AI Lab for Law Enforcement This hands-on session builds directly on Day 1 and focuses on practical application. Participants will use AI tools in guided, law-enforcement-specific exercises to improve efficiency, accuracy, and communication, all while maintaining ethical and legal compliance. Each module moves from experimentation to mastery, allowing participants to build confidence as capable AI users and advocates within their agencies. Topics include mastering AI prompting, exploring law-enforcement-specific use cases, building simple AI agents, and creating custom AI-powered workflows. By the end of the lab, attendees will understand what is possible with AI and leave with tangible examples to take back to their agencies. Duration: 2 days (8 hours each day) Cost: $400 total — save $100 when you book both days together ($250 if only single day) Audience: Officers, analysts, supervisors, and command staff Format: In-person, instructor-led training **If you would like to pay via invoice, please select "Pay in Person" and we will send you an invoice.**
