Course Description

Data-Driven Policing for Law Enforcement Leaders is designed for police leaders who know the value of data but aren’t sure how to turn it into actionable strategies. This course demystifies the use of policing data, helping leaders move beyond intuition to evidence-based decision making. Participants will learn how to identify and interpret common types of law enforcement data, assess their strengths and limitations, and apply data to guide resource allocation, evaluate programs and initiatives, and improve both public safety and organizational performance. The course emphasizes practical skills for leaders who are not statisticians or analysts but need to harness these tools to meet today’s demands for accountability, transparency, and measurable outcomes. By the end, participants will be prepared to confidently use data as a leadership asset, strengthening crime reduction efforts, enhancing officer performance, and building trust with their communities.
